Misdemeanors
Misdemeanors
are common criminal offenses that can have major
repercussions if not promptly addressed. Most of us have
committed a misdemeanor of some kind, be it speeding or
a parking violation or shoplifting. The critical
issue is knowing when and under what circumstances to
seek legal assistance.
Florida has two different types of misdemeanors.
A "first degree" misdemeanor is a crime punishable by up
to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. "Second degree"
misdemeanors are punishable by 60 days in jail.

There are more types of misdemeanors, but these
are some of the most common. If you are accused of one
of these crimes, you could run the risk of a permanent
criminal record. A criminal record can hamper your
future in many ways: owning a car; renting an apartment;
getting a job; or living near certain places. It
can also cause you untold amounts of embracement and
shame.
Misdemeanors are crimes that everyone will likely
face at some point in their lives. The actions you take
when you face these crimes will have repercussions that
last a long time and could have serious consequences.
